Patrol: verb. To move about an area for observation, security, or similar purposes.  noun. A person or group of persons who keep watch, stand guard, or protect. Why we have an EFFE Patrol We’re very particular about our facts, so we check and re-check the information we put in our books. Even so, there are two reasons to keep checking long after our books are in print: (1) The world changes, and (2) sometimes—not very often, but sometimes—we make mistakes. (Augh!!!) If you find a mistake, we want to know about it, and we want to let others know, too. We appreciate your help in this endeavor! Meet our Patrol Stars   Badge #1: Keen-Eyed Ken D. (KY) This patrol star spotted nothing, but unlike the rest of us, he realized that the nothing on page 44 should have contained a word. See if you can identify the missing word (click here), or go to Updates to Book 1: The World to find out what it is. Badge #2: Mind-boggling Matt D. (NE) When this patrol star perused our 10-second Country Quiz (pages 58-59), he also spotted nothing—a missing number 9. In addition, he realized he was ‘seeing double’ when it came to the number 30.
